The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Manager, Business Development to lead customer engagement and drive new business growth across the U.S. Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development – Sweet Goods & Private Label, this remote-based role focuses on building direct sales relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and executing strategies that fuel revenue growth.
This is a high-impact position suited for a driven, results-oriented sales leader with proven success managing client relationships and delivering against aggressive growth targets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
? Develop and execute direct sales strategies that drive top-line growth and maximize revenue opportunities
? Build and manage strong relationships with key customers, understanding business needs and delivering tailored solutions
? Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales professionals to drive performance and achieve ambitious sales targets
? Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends, whitespace, and areas for strategic penetration
? Forecast sales performance, manage budgets, and monitor KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives
? Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and operations to ensure strategic and executional alignment
? Monitor sales activity, analyze performance metrics, and refine sales strategies based on insights and results
? Deliver detailed reports and insights to senior leadership, highlighting performance, challenges, and growth opportunities
? Travel up to 50% to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support strategic business development
Qualifications & Competencies:
? Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or direct sales, preferably in the food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods industry
? Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
? Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing a high-performance sales team
? Deep understanding of direct sales processes, CRM tools, and sales methodologies
? Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to build rapport and influence across multiple levels
? Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into action
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), CRM platforms, and sales performance tools
? Highly motivated, results-driven, and adaptable in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
